DanStudio creates calm, narrative-driven food imagery and films rooted in Japandi aesthetics. Based in Horsham and working across London and the South East, I collaborate with bakeries, restaurants and emerging brands to craft visuals that feel intentional, honest and quietly refined. Every frame is designed to elevate texture, light and atmosphere — not just the product, but the feeling around it.

Hi, I’m Dan — photographer and filmmaker behind DanStudio. My journey into food photography began more than a decade ago, documenting the handmade creations from my partner’s bakery. What started as curiosity evolved into a disciplined study of light, texture and the quiet details that give food character. Before dedicating myself fully to visual work, I built a career in marketing. That experience continues to shape how I approach every project — not only through aesthetics, but with an understanding of brand positioning and audience perception.Having grown up in Asia and now based in the UK, my work reflects a blend of Eastern restraint and Western clarity. I’m drawn to simplicity, balance and the calm beauty of everyday rituals. And while my portfolio has evolved, I still have a soft spot for eggs in all their forms — perhaps because they perfectly embody what I value most in imagery: simplicity, structure and subtle texture.
